Sylvian’s self-analysis is inclined to aloofness, convinced that we may only know from our mistakes; furthermore, we can only grow through awareness of them. From this point of view, Sylvian is very similar to Brian Eno. (…) A mistake is fruitful and Taoist, and it reveals a certain level of approximation, not of technique.
